International Day of Yoga (IDY)-2026 was celebrated across Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) on 21st June 2026, reaffirming the importance of yoga as a powerful tool for promoting health, fitness and a balanced lifestyle. Yoga practice sessions were organised at the NFR Headquarters, all divisions, workshops and other railway establishments to spread awareness about the benefits of yoga and encourage its adoption as a way of life.

At the NFR Headquarters, the International Day of Yoga programme was organised at the Railway Indoor Stadium, Maligaon. Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager, NFR, along with other senior railway officials, participated in the programme. Railway officers, staff and their family members enthusiastically performed various yoga asanas, demonstrating their commitment towards adopting healthy lifestyle practices. The International Day of Yoga was also celebrated by NFR (Construction) at the office of the General Manager (Construction) under the leadership of Ashish Bansal, General Manager, NFR (Construction). Similar programmes were organised across all five divisions of NFR, witnessing enthusiastic participation from thousands of railway employees and their family members. The coordinated celebrations reflected NFR’s continued emphasis on employee welfare, preventive healthcare and healthy living.
