The Boston Red Sox traded James Tibbs III away last season, and he has been a star in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization ever since.

Tibbs went to Los Angeles in the deal that brought Dustin May to the Red Sox. Tibbs came to Boston originally when the team sent Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants. Tibbs was not great for the Red Sox, hitting just .207 in 30 Double-A games. However, he has been a completely different hitter for the Dodgers.

He slashed .269/.407/.493 with seven home runs for the Dodgers in Double-A last season. This season, he started in Triple-A and hit his 20th home run of the season on Thursday. It was a walk-off home run in the 10th inning against the Sacramento River Cats. The River Cats are the Triple-A affiliate of the Giants.

Not only did the home run move him to second on the list of Triple-A home run leaders, but it also walked off the team he would have been playing for if the Giants had never traded him. He was the organization's No. 4 prospect at the time, and has proven he can be a great player for the Dodgers organization.

Tibbs is slashing .297/.413/.602 in 69 games this season. Unfortunately for him, the Dodgers have no real opening for him in the big leagues. His bat looks big league ready, but the Dodgers' outfield is loaded, and first base belongs to Freddie Freeman. Even a position change would not help him at this point.
