The Storm relinquished the lead early in the fourth quarter and never got it back. Natisha Hiedeman finished with 16 points for Seattle, and Dominique Malonga added 15 while rookie Flau’jae Johnson went for 14 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists.

The Valkyries dashed out to a big early lead and held off the visiting Phoenix Mercury 87-81 on Tuesday night, snapping a two-game skid and getting to 2-2 in the Commissioner’s Cup. Veronica Burton scored 19 of her 25 points in the first half and added eight assists, while Gabby Williams also tossed in 25 points for Golden State.

Williams averages 15.4 points for Golden State, with Burton getting 14.7 points and 5.8 assists per game and Kayla Thornton posting 10.0 points and 5.4 rebounds a night. Malonga, who missed eight games with a concussion earlier this season, comes in with averages of 14.8 points and 6.0 boards, while Hiedeman puts up 13.9 points and 4.1 assists per game for the Storm.
