Patriots fans shouldn't get their hopes up for a reunion with Stefon Diggs.

Following the recent acquisition of A.J. Brown, many New England fans have called for the Patriots to re-sign Diggs, who was released in March. But head coach Mike Vrabel basically shot down the idea while meeting with reporters ahead of Wednesday's minicamp practice.

“I wouldn’t say anything is off the table,” Vrabel said, as transcribed by Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald. “We would want to add anybody that could help us. I’m not going to give a percentage on it, but I think we’re happy with where we’re at right now with the numbers and the people in the receiver room.

“And I appreciate Stefon as a person and as a player, and what he did for us last year. I value that, helped us win football games, helped us get to where we got, but right now I don’t think that that’s something that I think we’re exploring, but I would never say no.”

Obviously, Vrabel couched his remarks by saying nothing is "off the table." However, he also went out of his way to say he felt the Patriots have enough receivers and that the franchise wasn't "exploring" a reunion with Diggs. He didn't have to say any of that, so it's fair to assume he has no plans of bringing back the 32-year-old wideout.

Diggs, who remains unsigned, posted 85 catches for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns last season while playing in all 17 games.
