The Cleveland Browns' offensive lineman showed off his sense of humor as he announced his retirement, and the one-liner came at the expense of Johnny Manziel.

Manziel, of course, was once "Johnny Football," an SEC star drafted in the first round by the Browns.

But then Manziel turned into a massive bust, hardly sticking around as an NFL quarterback before flaming out.

Bitonio, at least with a bit of a joking nature but also probably somewhat serious, credited Manziel for the longevity of his own career.

“I was drafted the same year as Johnny Manziel,” Bitonio said as he discussed his retirement. “And we actually roomed together. I learned some things not to do from him.”

Bitonio played all 12 of his NFL seasons in Cleveland.

The Browns released Manziel after two seasons, and he never got into another NFL game.

Bitonio was drafted a round later than Manziel in 2014. He went to seven Pro Bowls and played 178 games for the Browns overall.

It's always good to have role models.

It doesn't usually hurt to also have someone who shows you a way of doing things that you might want to avoid.

Bitonio apparently got that from Manziel.
