Zohran Mamdani reveals cost of his NBA Finals Game 3 ticket at MSG amid sky-high prices
· Yahoo Sports
Zohran Mamdani is heading to Game 3 of the NBA Finals, but the price he paid tells a very different story from the wider Madison Square Garden market.
The Knicks have returned home with a 2-0 lead over the San Antonio Spurs, just two wins from their first NBA title since 1973.

For one of America’s most passionate basketball cities, this is the night decades of waiting finally feels close to paying off.
Zohran Mamdani ticket price cuts through MSG chaos
At a FIFA Arena event in NYC, Mamdani said he bought his seat directly through Madison Square Garden rather than the secondary market.
“I bought my ticket for nearly $1000 from Madison Square Garden. I’ll be going to tonight’s Game 3, and I’ll be standing for the duration of the game.”
That number is still expensive, but it sits nowhere near the prices many Knicks fans have been seeing. TickPick listed Game 3 get-in prices around $4,741 and an average near $8,446, while other platforms pushed cheap seats into the $5,000 range or higher.
NBA Finals Game 3 prices shut out regular fans
Josh Hart captured the frustration when he called the cheapest $7,000 to $8,000 tickets “ridiculous,” saying many fans who waited years for this moment cannot get into the building.
The top end is even harder to process. Courtside listings have climbed beyond $75,000, and the Knicks sold two Celebrity Row seats for $1 million through a Garden of Dreams Foundation charity fundraiser.
That charity sale will help young people facing illness, homelessness, poverty, and foster care challenges, but it also underlines how exclusive the room has become.

Mamdani will not be the only political figure in the building. President Donald Trump is also expected at MSG, bringing enhanced Secret Service and NYPD security, a no-bag policy, and the cancellation of the planned outdoor watch party near the arena.
The politics and prices could easily steal attention, but the basketball stakes remain bigger. New York is watching Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, and the Knicks chase a title the city has not touched in 53 years.
Mamdani’s $1000 ticket is not cheap. In this Finals market, though, it almost looks like a bargain.
