Canada Post has warned some customers to be prepared for “minor service interruptions” during FIFA World Cup 2026 events in Toronto.

The federal postal agency, whose tentative deal with its letter carriers was accepted just over a week ago, says that from June 11 to July 19 those interruptions will likely occur in proximity to the FIFA Fan Festival at Fort York and The Bentway and during six match days at Toronto Stadium at Exhibition Place.

The FIFA Fan Festiva l will run from June 11 to July 19, beginning as early as 10:30 a.m. and ending as late as midnight.

The match days and start times are Friday, June 12 at 3 p.m. (Canada vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina), Wednesday, June 17 at 7 p.m. (Ghana vs. Panama), Saturday, June 20 at 4 p.m. (Germany vs. Cote d’Ivoire, with no mail delivery on Saturdays), Tuesday, June 23 at 7 p.m. (Croatia vs. Panama), Friday, June 26 at 3 p.m. (Senegal vs. Iraq), and Thursday, July 2 at 7 p.m. (Round of 32).

“All efforts will be made to deliver mail on the five weekdays with matches, but there may be delays or interruptions for customers living in the neighbourhoods with postal codes starting with M6K, M6J and M5V,” Canada Post said in its announcement. “Any mail not delivered will be held securely at the Canada Post depot and prioritized for delivery the next business day.”

Due to increased traffic and road closures, the following post offices may experience temporary delays in mail processing and delivery on certain match days: 390 Queens Quay W., 761 King St. W., 119 Ossington Ave. and 1093 Queen St. W.

Canada Post will also remove the following street letter boxes within the events boundaries until Wednesday, July 22: Enercare Centre at the Canadian National Exhibition, Queen Elizabeth Building at the Canadian National Exhibition, Niagara St. and Richmond St. W., Niagara St. and Tecumseth St., King St. W. and Niagara St., 740 King St. W., 761 King St. W., Dufferin St. and King St. W., Dufferin St. and Liberty St., Jefferson Ave. and Liberty St., and the Metro store at 100 Lynn Williams St.
