· Yahoo Sports
Belal Muhammad is not going anywhere despite three consecutive losses in the division he once ruled.
Former welterweight champion Muhammad (24-6 MMA, 15-6 UFC) saw his skid continue on Saturday at UFC Fight Night 278 when he was shut out on the scorecards by Gabriel Bonfim (20-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC), who claimed a clear unanimous decision at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.

At 37 and with his 38th birthday next month, the negative narratives around Muhammad are sure to be strong. Critical fans will tell him to retire or fight in a lesser organization, but according to Muhammad, the plan is to push forward in the octagon.
Muhammad issued a statement in the hours after his defeat, praising teammate Brendan Allen, who defeated Edmen Shahbazyan in the co-main event, while making it clear he's going to "be back" (via Instagram):
