NBA fans are having a range of reactions to an eager fan running out onto the court during Game 1, just to take a picture with Victor Wembanyama. The game was halted as a result of the incident, with guards eventually taking the fan out of the court.

Wemby himself seemed quite taken aback by the entire scene, looking at the fan’s phone and smiling. While many fans seemed pretty humored by the whole thing, others felt that the fan crossed a line, especially considering that this was the finals.

“Bro ran on the court for a pic with Wemby (crying emoji x4)” X user ShowCaseShabazz tweeted, sharing a clip of the Wemby fan.

“He has no idea he’s risking lifetime ban and jail time.” one fan pointed out.

“Bro saw Wemby and said ‘lifetime ban? Worth it’ Mitchell Robinson’s face is me trying to process 2026 reality,” another fan added.

The fan’s actual identity has not been revealed so far, nor is it known if he finally managed to get a picture with Wemby in the first place. Still, the incident has left many condemning the fan’s actions, especially since the entire game had to be halted for quite a few minutes before it could be resumed again.

Meanwhile, NBA fans were quick to note Mitchell Robinson’s surprised reaction to the fan storming Game 1 for a picture with Wemby. Robinson looked thoroughly puzzled at the fan’s actions, and instantly became meme material.

The fan’s actions did not stop the Knicks from completely crushing the San Antonio Spurs with a 105-95 final score. Wemby managed a mere twenty-six on the board to lead the Spurs, while NY’s Jalen Brunson chalked up a thirty for the Knicks.
