A man and woman face charges after a loaded firearm and cocaine were allegedly seized during a traffic stop in Regent Park.

Toronto Police say officers from 51 Division’s Primary Response Unit were on general patrol near Dundas St. E. and Sackville St. – east of Parliament St. – when they “initiated an investigation concerning a vehicle and its occupants” around 12:10 a.m. on May 9.
“During the investigation, a loaded firearm was located and seized,” police alleged in a statement released Saturday.
Police said Criminal Code and Controlled Drug and Substances Act search warrants were subsequently “obtained and executed.”
The subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly led to the seizure of a quantity of cocaine and a quantity of cash.
Dakari Dawkins, 30, and Kiesha Schell-Pink, 30, both Toronto residents, were arrested.
Dawkins is charged with driving a motor vehicle while suspended; possession of a firearm without a license; possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm; possession of a loaded firearm; handling a firearm carelessly; handling ammunition carelessly; occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm; possessing a weapon dangerous to the public peace; possession of a firearm with altered serial number; possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking; and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime not exceeding $5,000.
Schell-Pinkis charged with possession of a firearm without a license; possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm; possess of a loaded firearm; handling a firearm carelessly; handling ammunition carelessly; occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm; possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace; possession of a firearm with altered serial number; possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking; and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime not exceeding $5,000.
