Nets Lining Up to Take ‘Offensive Star’ in NBA Draft

The Brooklyn Nets have the No. 6 pick in the 2026 NBA draft, and the move should help secure them some talent for the future. The team’s rebuild is still very much in play, and they need rookie talent that will translate into real NBA fire.

Thankfully, the Nets will have solid options available for their early pick.

“Remember when the Nets loaded up on guards and playmakers while spending five first-round picks in last year’s draft?” he states in the piece. “Well, don’t expect that to have any bearing on this pick. They need an offensive star, and Acuff looks like the one. He’s an ignitable scoring threat from all over with the ball control, pace and feel of a floor general.”

Acuff is not an elite athlete quite yet, and the defense still comes and goes at times, but the offensive upside is big enough that teams probably won’t overthink those concerns. He also quieted some of the size questions at the Combine after measuring 6-foot-2 without shoes and showing off a strong 6-foot-7 wingspan. So, yes, he truly seems like a good pick for the future of the Nets.
