The weather may be getting much nicer outside, but there are still some dedicated youth hockey players taking part in some of the final tournaments of the season.
During one game that took place this past weekend, however, some parents appeared to get a bit too into it.
A group of parents was caught on camera appearing to berate an official as U12 players left the ice and headed toward the changing rooms.
One man wearing a black jacket and hat climbed over the boards from the outside and yelled at someone on the ice while pointing at them. At first, he was restrained by a woman, but he then swatted away her hand as she attempted to get him down.
Nearby, another man wearing team apparel and a red hat was seen pointing at the person filming the incident and giving them the finger. As he walked away from the camera person, the man stopped and slammed both palms against the glass twice before yelling toward someone on the ice.
A blonde woman then approached and called the people on the ice “animals” and said they were “sick” in the head.
Which team was involved and where did this take place?
The game reportedly featured the Vaughan Panthers and took place at Canlan Ice Sports in York.
It was unclear from the video and reports what sparked the incident.
The clip was posted on Instagram on Sunday by Crisp Hockey Training , which wrote that the incident took place prior to their game on Saturday.
“U12 SPRING HOCKEY this past weekend prior to our game this past Saturday,” read the caption accompanying the video. “What is wrong with people?”
The video was later posted on X by Clanko Media, which wrote, “U12 Hockey baby!! LFG!”

Followers on social media were quick to comment on the video and the bad example it set for the kids at the rink.
“Way to teach your kids how to act and communicate,” one user wrote on X.
“That poor wife having to pull her husband off the glass. Family memories,” another posted.
One user on X joked that they “Wish my dad had this attitude when I was growing up. I’d be in the show for sure!”
Some users on social media weren’t surprised to see the team that was allegedly involved.
“Vaughan parents have been known as glass bangers for a couple decades,” one user commented on Instagram. “Under 9 & younger they like standing in the corners and yelling instructions the kids cannot understand.”
“Surprise, surprise look at the organization involved,” another replied.
What did the team say?
The Vaughan Panthers hockey organization did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the incident.
On the Panthers website , the organization’s mission statement says it aims “to promote sportsmanship, teamwork, respect and dedication to the sport through discipline and effort.”
In its rules of operations , the organization states that parents and guardians “are expected to conduct themselves generally in a manner which best exemplifies the standards and values of the Association,” adding that they “must demonstrate respect, courtesy and civility in all dealings relating to their child’s involvement in the Association’s hockey program.”
Additionally, it notes that “provocative and inflammatory types of behaviour, including the use of profanity, threats and verbal or physical confrontations shall not be tolerated.”
