Shilo Sanders Strongly Hints He’s Heading Toward NFL Retirement

· Yahoo Sports

NFL fans have long known that Shilo Sanders isn’t quite as talented as his brother, Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

So it was no surprise when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers cut Shilo the day after the preseason ended.

And in 10 months since, Shilo has yet to catch on with another NFL team despite taking a few private workouts during that time.

The fact that he has yet to land on another NFL roster seems to have been a wake-up call of sorts for Shilo, who recently admitted that playing in the NFL may be a dream he doesn’t actually achieve, implying that he may be barreling toward an early retirement.

“I just be like working out like just as a human,” Shilo said on his YouTube channel. “But training and stuff, like getting ready, and you have a set day, like camp starts, like a whole different type of training.

“It takes a special kind of guy to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and I don’t think there’s any light in my tunnel.”

Shilo does have another option on the table: the Canadian Football League.

The Toronto Argonauts hold Shilo’s CFL negotiating rights. Toronto also has the CFL rights to Shedeur as well, though the chances of him playing in the CFL appear to be quite slim given he’s battling with Deshaun Watson for the Browns QB1 job.

Shilo had a solid showing in three preseason games with the Bucs, logging 83 defensive snaps, 46 coverage snaps, four tackles, one QB pressure, one reception for eight yards allowed in coverage.
