Arkansas eliminates Tennessee in SEC baseball tournament

The SEC baseball tournament second round was contested Wednesday at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, Alabama.

No. 7 seed Arkansas (37-19, 17-13 SEC) defeated No. 10 seed Tennessee (38-20, 15-15 SEC), 8-4, in the second round.

Evan Blanco (7-4) started for Tennessee and pitched three innings. He recorded three strikeouts and 57 pitches, including 38 strikes, against 16 batters. Blanco allowed seven hits (three home runs), five runs (five earned) and one walk.

Chandler Day pitched 1.1 innings in relief, allowing two earned runs. Ethan Baiotto also allowed one earned run.

The Vols totaled eight hits against South Carolina. Levi Clark and Garrett Wright recorded two hits each for Tennessee.

Tennessee opened tournament play with an, 11-6, victory against No. 15 seed South Carolina (22-35, 7-23 SEC) on Tuesday.

The Vols will next play in the NCAA Tournament. A NCAA Tournament bracket will be revealed May 25 at noon EDT (ESPN2) after the SEC Tournament.
