It’s too soon for Brian Kelly to come back to Notre Dame
· Yahoo Sports
We have just enough time (my schedule — not yours) to bust out the speed option. Let’s go…
BRIAN KELLY SHOULD STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM NOTRE DAME
When Brian Kelly came back to Notre Dame’s campus for the funeral of Lou Holtz, I scolded those that complained about him being there. After all — as a Catholic, we are mandated to bury the dead as a corporal work of mercy. Some things are bigger than football — even at Notre Dame (I’m mean, obviously at Notre Dame). Anyways… Brian Kelly says he’s coming back to chat, and that I can’t get down with. It’s too soon. The drama and the bullshit words are still fresh in the memory of Notre Dame alums and fans, and it’s too soon. Maybe try again in 15 years.

CJ CARR — MYSTERY TRAVELER
CJ Carr is the odds favorite right now to win the Heisman and will be eligible to enter the 2027 NFL Draft. And yet… I keep hearing doubt that he leaves after this year. I’m gullible enough to buy it and love the thought of a returning Heisman winner at QB returning to South Bend in 2027.
“I just think he’s going to develop and be in this mix to be in the first round whenever that is — whether it’s next year or the year after.”

MAKE IT MAKE SENSE
Setting aside the absurdity of this task in May, our old friend Brett McMurphy has bowl and playoff predictions out. Basically… he has Notre Dame losing to Miami in the regular season, getting a 3 seed with an 11-1 record, and then losing to Miami in the national championship game.
Seriously.

ON THAT NOTE
The build up for Notre Dame vs Miami on November 7, might eventually be bigger than it was for Notre Dame vs Clemson in 2020. Just wait until you hear Pete Sampson say, “but what does this mean for the Miami game?” about 473 times from July to November.
As I've written in column and said on pod. Winner here finishes regular season undefeated and will be No. 1 seed in CFP. ND wins – C.J. Carr wins Heisman. Miami wins and we'll see if they have a standout or if multiple guys split the vote. https://t.co/CodyAco9jg

A REMINDER THAT TAE JOHNSON IS A BEAST
Not that you need a reminder, but we’re going to give it to you anyways.
