A press release from FOX Sports stated that the company is teaming up with FOX One and Indeed to hire a “FOX One Chief World Cup Watcher Hired Through Indeed.” This temporary role entails the selected applicant watching the 104 games live in 4K on FOX One from a custom-built viewing space in Times Square, New York City.

Per the press release, the hired fan will not only watch but also post social media content throughout each game. This is to capture their reaction to every minute of the games. The position begins on June 6 and pays $50,000. FOX will announce the hire during the broadcast of the Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees game. The role will run until July 26, concluding a week after the World Cup final.

Interested applicants have to update their Indeed profiles by May 17. They must have reporting, journalism, and content creation experience. Candidates are also to post a short video on social media to explain why they are a perfect fit for the role. They should use the hashtag #ChiefWorldCupWatcher with the video.

Robert Gottlieb, President of Marketing at FOX Sports, said, “This FIFA World Cup will be a historic tournament that calls for an equally historic hire.
