Netflix's The Night Agent Ending With Season 4

Netflix's FBI action thriller The Night Agent will end with the upcoming season 4. Fans of the show — which tells the story of FBI agent Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) getting tangled up in massive conspiracy and having to deal with some daddy issues along the way — will at least get some closure, according to the people behind the scenes.

"Ever since the initial success of The Night Agent, I’ve been obsessed with eventually delivering a proper and thrilling conclusion to the show and to Peter Sutherland’s journey," creator, EP and showrunner Shawn Ryan told Deadline. "I’m so grateful to Netflix and Sony Pictures Television for partnering with me on The Night Agent and for giving us the space to deliver a definitive final season to our worldwide legion of fans. We are hard at work to complete our story and to make our final season one our fans will never forget."
In addition to Basso, the show's cast included Luciane Buchanan as cybersecurity CEO Rose Larkin, Kari Matchett as US President Michelle Travers, and Fola Evans-Akingbola as US Secret Service agent Chelsea Arrington. Season 4 will see a few notable additions to the cast, including Li Jun Li (who played Grace Chow in Sinners) and Moonlight and The Predator's Trevante Rhodes.
The Night Agent's Basso will be keeping busy. He's making his directorial debut with the psychological thriller Iconoclast, which he also wrote and will star in. It's currently in production and will tell the story of a man obsessed with a streamer.
Earlier this year, in an interview with WWD, he explained how seeing Gladiator as a kid as framed the way he sees the audience for his work. "People and audiences are being treated like slot machines sort of, where it’s like 'give me your time, give me your money.' And they almost feel entitled to it. That’s the inversion of what it should be. [With The Night Agent] we asked for 10 hours of people’s time and people felt like they walked away and that the trade was honored.”
Production on season 4 of The Night Agent just began, and the fourth and final season is expected to arrive on Netflix in early 2027.
