When the entire debacle over the Pittsburgh Steelers' first-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft happened, the NFL world saw it. In case you missed it, Steelers General Manager Omar Khan was on the phone with former USC Makai Lemon a pick early, planning to take him. This happened only to watch the Philadelphia Eagles trade up to the Cowboys spot and steal Lemon out of under them while Khan was on the phone.

This is something we can vouch for. We remember the 2025 NFL draft, and Khan was on the phone with defensive tackle Derrick Harmon, a pick early, telling him to just hold on, and they were going to make him a Steeler. Luckily, this worked out, and Pittsburgh got Harmon, but we hope that missing out on Lemon ends up a blessing in disguise.
