The Minnesota Timberwolves suffered a brutal loss to their superstar guard, Anthony Edwards. While Minnesota took a 3-1 series lead over the No. 3 seed Denver Nuggets, it came with an injury to the four-time All-Star.
Edwards suffered a bone bruise and hyperextension in his left knee during Game 4 against the Nuggets on Saturday.

The injury will force the 24-year-old to be out for a few weeks. While the injury looks scary, it was revealed that there was no structural damage to his knee, and he is expected to begin rehabilitation.
Timberwolves face uncertainty without Anthony Edwards
Edwards' injury occurred during the second quarter of the contest. He was going up for a block and came down awkwardly. By the looks, many knew it was a hyperextension; however, some worried that it could have been an ACL injury. Luckily, that is not the case for the Georgia native.
While Edwards has a chance to return this season, it remains uncertain whether the Timberwolves can extend their run long enough to get their superstar back on the court.
If Minnesota were to hang on this series, they would likely play the young, up-and-coming No. 2 seed San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs, led by Victor Wembanyama, would be tough to beat without Edwards.
The Timberwolves would likely be without Edwards for that entire series. Even if he were to return, Edwards would be far from 100 percent.
Nonetheless, Minnesota is in a strong position to potentially upset the Nuggets, but it will be a significant challenge to do so without their star guard on the floor—or to sustain success moving forward in his absence.
Edwards ends his series against the Nuggets averaging 18.5 points per game, 6.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists while shooting a poor 35.8 percent from the field.
