The Green Bay Packers will finally be making a draft pick today, so let’s take a look at who some of the experts have the Packers taking with the 52nd overall pick. Below are the results of eight Day 2 mock draft (yes, this is a thing) for Green Bay’s selections.

Personally, I don’t get why the Packers are being mocked an off-ball linebacker (maybe people don’t realize the team switched to a 3-4 defense this offseason). Our own Tex Western did a good breakdown on the possibilities at #52 and tiering how excited we should be for each prospect. I’m higher on R Mason Thomas than him, but the rest is pretty much how I see it.

For what it’s worth, here’s how many times players were picked before the Packers’ first selection in these eight mock drafts:

  • 8
    • Aveion Terrell, CB, Clemson
    • Colton Hood, CB, Tennessee
    • Denzel Boston, WR, Washington
    • Germie Bernard, WR, Alabama
    • Jermod McCoy, CB, Tennessee
    • Kayden McDonald, iDL, Ohio State
    • T.J. Parker, EDGE, Clemson
  • 7
    • CJ Allen, LB, Georgia
    • Jacob Rodriguez, LB, Texas Tech
    • Zion Young, EDGE, Missouri
  • 6
    • Cashius Howell, EDGE, Texas A&M
    • Christen Miller, iDL, Georgia (Packers visitor)
    • Emmanuel McNeil Warren, S, Toledo
  • 5
    • Brandon Cisse, CB, South Carolina
    • D’Angelo Ponds, CB, Indiana
    • Treydan Stukes, S, Arizona
  • 4
    • A.J. Haulcy, S, LSU (Packers visitor)
    • Chase Bisontis, iOL, Texas A&M
    • Eli Stowers, TE, Vanderbilt
    • Gabe Jacas, EDGE, Illinois
    • Lee Hunter, iDL, Texas Tech (Packers visitor)
  • 3
    • R Mason Thomas, EDGE, Oklahoma
  • 2
    • Anthony Hill Jr., LB, Texas
    • Chris Bell, WR, Louisville
    • Derrick Moore, EDGE, Michigan
    • Garrett Nussmeier, QB, LSU
  • 1
    • Caleb Tiernan, OT, Northwestern
    • Carson Beck, QB, Georgia
    • Chris Brazzell II, WR, Tennessee (Packers visitor)
    • Dani Dennis-Sutton, EDGE, Penn State
    • Jake Golday, LB, Cincinnati
    • Keionte Scott, CB, Miami
    • Malachi Fields, WR, North Dame
    • Ted Hurst, WR, Georgia State (Packers visitor)
    • Zachariah Branch, WR, Georgia

So right now the only “won’t be there” prospects appear to be receivers Denzel Boston and Germie Bernard, defensive tackle Kayden McDonald, edge rusher T.J. Parker and cornerbacks Aveion Terrell, Colton Hood and Jermod McCoy. Besides them, all prospects are live options to varying extents.
