The Hawkeyes hosted the top-45 prospect the last two days for an official visit, and Iowa continues to put itself in a strong spot for the Wisconsin native.
VIP:…
Davis, a native of Kaukauna, Wis., plays at Freedom High School and is the 42nd-best prospect in the 2027 class, according to 247Sports. The 6-foot-7, 200-pound forward has four other visits lined up over the next few weeks. He visited Wisconsin earlier this week and has visits set up with Marquette, Nebraska, and Iowa State next week.
While his home-state Badgers may seem to have an edge on the surface, the Hawkeyes are a serious contender to land his talents for their 2027 class. Davis is a high-level skill player on the offensive side of the court, with the size and length to excel defensively as well.
The fact that McCollum is seriously in on a prospect of the caliber of Davis speaks to where the program is at now. Twelve months ago, this probably wouldn't have happened. But Iowa's recent NCAA Tournament run, along with the quality of McCollum, has given the program new life. Landing Davis would be another win to add to a growing list of victories for the Hawkeyes recently.
