Under the strategy issued by the state government, special emphasis is being placed on ensuring adequate availability of key fertilizers such as urea, DAP (di-ammonium phosphate) and NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus, potash).

Senior officials of the Agriculture Department have been instructed to ensure that fertilizer supply in each district is aligned with demand and made available in advance, so that farmers do not face any inconvenience during sowing and crop growth.

In addition, committees will be formed at all fertilizer sale centres across the state under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate. Personnel from the Agriculture Department, Revenue Department and other departments as required will be deployed to ensure transparent distribution. Strict action will be taken as per rules against those involved in hoarding fertilizers and creating artificial shortages.

Close monitoring will also be maintained to prevent diversion of fertilizers to non-agricultural sectors such as plywood industries and animal feed manufacturing units. Awareness campaigns will be conducted in rural areas to promote the recommended and balanced use of fertilizers, with a maximum of 7 bags of urea and 5 bags of DAP per hectare, and to discourage advance stockpiling.

Intensive monitoring will also be carried out in districts located near international and interstate borders to ensure proper availability and distribution of fertilizers.

The plan also focuses on strengthening the role of cooperative societies. The government has decided to increase the share of fertilizer distribution through cooperative institutions to enhance transparency and accessibility.

At the same time, a balanced participation of the private sector has been proposed, with an allocation of around 35 percent quota to ensure an efficient supply chain.

To monitor fertilizer distribution, the government has implemented a strict monitoring system. Regular review meetings will be held at the district level, and officials have been directed to take immediate action against any instances of black marketing or hoarding. Additionally, a real-time tracking system will be used to monitor the availability and distribution of fertilizers.

This well-planned strategy is expected to ensure timely and adequate availability of fertilizers to farmers, leading to increased crop production and strengthening of the agricultural sector. This initiative is being considered a significant step taken in the interest of the farmers of the state.
