In response to rumours circulating on social media about a shortage of petrol and diesel, the district administration has imposed a ban on the open sale of fuel to maintain law and order.
District Collector Kishan Jawale has issued an order as a preventive measure, considering the potential risks posed by the sale of inflammable substances, which could lead to untoward incidents.

Exercising powers under the Petroleum Rules, 2002, all petrol pump owners and operators in the district have been directed to ensure that petrol and diesel are sold strictly by filling directly into vehicle fuel tanks. The sale or filling of fuel in cans, bottles, or any unauthorised containers has been strictly prohibited under any circumstances.
Additionally, it has been made mandatory for all petrol pumps to maintain functional CCTV systems and keep proper records of fuel sales. Strict action will also be taken against individuals found storing petrol or diesel illegally under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.

The district administration has appealed to citizens not to believe in rumours and to cooperate with authorities.
