'We're so far ahead of the Steelers.' Dan Hurley talks Bengals fandom
· Yahoo Sports
UConn Huskies men's basketball head coach and Cincinnati Bengals fan Dan Hurley appeared on "Pat McAfee Show" and talked about Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow's Fanatics flag football performance in addition to his friendship with Joe's father, former Ohio Bobcats coordinator Jimmy Burrow, and the state of the Bengals.
"That's why we love (Joe Burrow)," Hurley said. "I mean obviously you hold your - you're gasping that he doesn't get hurt there. But that's why you love him. That's why he's got the Bungles, as you said, to the Super Bowl. A hair away from winning the Super Bowl. And I'm confident that this is our year."

"I communicate with Joe's dad, who (is) a coach's coach, a former coach," Hurley continued. "So we've got that kind of like family business bond in sports thing. We're so far ahead of the Steelers. We're just so far ahead of where the Steelers currently are."
In November 2024, Hurley appeared on McAfee's show and predicted that his favorite NFL team would win both AFC North games against the Steelers that season.
The Bengals won in Cincinnati and lost in Pittsburgh that season. Hurley had promised to wear a Steelers hat to a press conference if Pittsburgh had won both games.
Hurley, who has said he's been a fan of the team since the Freezer Bowl, served as the Bengals' Ruler of the Jungle in Week 1 earlier that season.
