Kamari Ramsey Leaning On Former USC CB For Advice Ahead of NFL Draft

Kamari Ramsey is one of multiple USC football stars entering the 2026 NFL Draft. Ramsey has participated in the Senior Bowl, NFL Scouting Combine, and most recently, USC’s Pro Day on Thursday.

Although the draft process can be demanding and stressful, Ramsey told reporters he is grateful to have the opportunity to go through it.

“Prayed to be in a situation like this,” Ramsey said. “I’m very grateful to go through this process, learned a lot. The main thing I learned is to just have fun. Don’t stress myself out too much cause at the end of the day I’m a football player. Got to get through it.”

Ramsey Received Advice From Former USC Teammate Jaylin Smith

Like Ramsey is now, former USC cornerback Jaylin Smith went through the NFL Draft process last year. The 2024 All-Big Ten Third-Team selection participated in the Senior Bowl, NFL Scouting Combine and USC’s Pro Day before the Houston Texans drafted him in the third round.

Ramsey is also projected to be drafted around the second or third round. He is reportedly attending a top-30 visit with the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys have the No. 92 pick in the third round going into the draft.

Ramsey told reporters at USC’s Pro Day that he has been receiving some advice from Smith through the draft process. Ramsey and Smith were teammates at USC for two years in 2023 and 2024.

“Just be you,” Ramsey said about what he has learning from Smith. “Just learning from him how he went through the process, he was real calm, himself, always laughing, always smiling. I just took that into my process and was like ‘Yeah we gon’ work hard, and I’m going to put in the work and do everything I got to do but at the end of the day just smile and have fun with it.’”

The NFL Draft will take place from April 23-25.
