Notre Dame locks down visit from Illinois 4-star defensive lineman

· Yahoo Sports

Notre Dame will have a chance to close on one of their top defensive line targets in June, but it will come against stiff competition.

Brayden Parks, a 4-star recruit out of Chicago, Illinois has announced he has narrowed his list to three schools and will be taking visits during the early portion of the summer. He will be visiting Ohio State on May 29th, he will visit South Bend on June 12th, and then wrap his visits up with Oregon on June 19th.

Parks, is ranked as the No. 179 overall prospect in the 2027 class according to 247 Sports Composite rankings. He is ranked the No. 20 defensive lineman in the class. He stands at 6-foot, 3-inches and 305-pounds and has been trained since the eight grade by former Irish All-American Kerry Neal. Interest in Parks rose after he led Brother Rice to a Class 7A state championship with multiple dominating performances.

Neal calls him “the most polished D-lineman in the state,” praising his grown-man strength, explosiveness, hand usage, hip flip and next-level pass-rush moves like hump and counters that he executes in games. “He’s big, young, strong and athletic with a ceiling so high,” Neal said, noting Parks’ ability to disrupt quarterbacks from the interior — a trait that could earn early playing time and NIL riches at the next level.

Notre Dame has to feel good that they have made the final three on Brayden’s list, but with the Buckeyes and Ducks visits also looming, this is not a recruiting battle they can let up on until signing day.
