Indiana star players talk about Michigan State following loss

Michigan State took down Indiana inside of Assembly Hall on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Hoosiers, 77-64. It was a convincing road win for the Spartans, who kept Indiana in check as they were in search of a big time win, as they currently are sitting on the NCAA Tournament bubble.

After the loss, Indiana star players Tucker DeVries and Lamar Wilkerson spoke to the media about the game.

  • DeVries: "To be honest, I thought the first half, for as well as they shot it, the way the game was going, I thought we gave ourselves enough chance to still be in the game at half time."
  • DeVries: "There was a lot of effort out there today, I thought we competed at a high level, some of the execution in the game plan we lacked a little bit, especially in the first half."
  • Wilkerson: "We just aren't playing our best basketball as a group, there's a lot we have to fix. We've been playing so good teams, other than the one we choked on last week, but we have to find a way to get back to how we was at the end of January."
  • DeVries: "There's times you go out there and lay it out there, it's just not enough some nights. I thought tonight was a little more on that side than the previous loss....our goals are still in front of us, we are going to go down swinging."
  • DeVries: "They put us in a lot of difficult spots...at crunch time, we just couldn't get those defensive rebounds, they hit some tough shots...that's one of the best teams in the country."
