Top WR prospect wants to catch passes from Commanders' Jayden Daniels

One of the top wide receivers in the 2026 draft class is 2025 Biletnikoff Award recipient Makai Lemon from USC. He is in attendance at the 2026 NFL Combine this week as a prospective draftee. He's meeting with various teams and participating in workouts to show off his skills. On top of those things, Lemon, along with every other player invited to the combine, is talking to members of the media and answering questions.
While talking to the media on Friday, he was asked which three current NFL quarterbacks he would like to catch passes from.

After thinking for a moment, Lemon says, "I would probably say Caleb Williams would be cool, my former teammate. Probably go, Aaron Rodgers would be cool, you know he's a goat and a legend. And one more ... (thinking) I'll go with Jayden Daniels, for sure."
Lemon wasn't widely used during his freshman year, catching just six passes for 88 yards, and that's the only year that he and Caleb Williams shared the field. So it's not too surprising that he would pick Williams, and Aaron Rodgers is kind of a given for any receiver. Jayden Daniels was a bit of a surprising add, but it makes you wonder if he wants to test out the comparison between Williams and Daniels that sparked so much chatter ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft.
The draft is roughly two months away, and the league year starts in less than two weeks. As teams gear up for the start of free agency, we'll get a better idea of how they plan to build their teams for the 2026 season.
