2026 fantasy impact of Kyle Pitts reportedly staying with the Falcons

· Yahoo Sports

According to the latest reports, the Falcons will franchise tag tight end Kyle Pitts. Last season’s overall TE2, Pitts has been tough on dynasty managers who envisioned a decade or more of monster production when they first drafted him in 2021. Remaining in Atlanta might be one of the best fantasy outcomes... though managers should temper expectations.

Pitts was largely un-startable in fantasy leagues in 2022, 2023, and 2024. That’s because he’s been almost entirely volume dependent. Not his fault. It’s the nature of being an NFL tight end. Few command significant target shares. During those three “lean” years, Pitts netted only 5.1 looks per game compared to a slightly more respectable 6.5 as a rookie.

During that rookie campaign, Pitts’ best performance came when #1 WR Calvin Ridley was sidelined. Tyjae Sharpe and Olamide Zaccheus had to pick up the slack. So naturally, Pitts assumed an outsized role, culminating in 26.9 fantasy points.

This past season was more of the same, with Pitts oscillating between startable and benchable without warning. His inconsistency frustrated managers. But then #1 WR Drake London missed four games. With no strong backups to target, Pitts was forced to step up, culminating in a memorable Week 15 outing where he collected 45.6 points – or over 21% of his total 2025 production.

Pitts’ reported return to Atlanta means he’ll continue operating behind London and (offensively) Bijan Robinson. Perhaps the Falcons will add a strong #2 WR. If not, Pitts will remain one London injury away from monster upside. That should be enough to make him a safe draft pick. But he can’t be expected to replicate his 2026 numbers if London remains healthy.
