Women’s FA Cup Quarter Final Draw Set for Monday
· Yahoo Sports
Liverpool FC Women have famously had a pretty rough go of it this season, especially in the league. Though, the last result notwithstanding, it does look like Gareth Taylor’s team are starting to find a bit of a groove.
In terms of cup competitions, though, the Reds have generally managed to put together more positive results. And now, the squad find themselves one match away from making it into the FA Cup quarter finals. All that stands between them and the next big step is their cross-town rivals: Everton.

A Merseyside Derby to decide which team takes this big step in search of one of the big prizes feels like impossibly high stakes. It’s the kind of match-up that pundits love because the narrative writes itself: a battle for the city with extra spoils in tow. And, for Liverpool, the hope of drawing something positive out of this difficult season continues to find just that little bit of life.
Should Liverpool manage to make it past the Toffees, they won’t have long to wait for the news of their opponent in the quarters, as news has been released that the quarter final draw will take place on Monday. Being able to find out sooner rather than later is definitely something I would have preferred.
But to get to that they’ll need to first put in a shift against an Everton side that is 7 points better than the Reds in league play and are on a bit of a good run of form. Liverpool certainly will have their work cut out as they try to extend their cup run and step into the quarter finals.
